Welcome to the ArcView and ArcCanada GIS Session. Why use ArcView GIS in the elementary classroom? It can meet the provincial curriculum learning outcomes; allows integration; makes kids present their maps in attractive ways and students feel successful, no matter what level of ability.

Gr. 4 (Inuit) Nunavut Map

This is an example of a student who is working 3 years below his grade level in his written output. He completed this map, however not successfully. There were many mistakes.

This is the same child who did the first map, however this is wonderfully presented and is legible.
